How to keep birds off the peas?

Hi! I have a problem with birds coming into my garden and eating the snow peas. How can I stop the birds from picking my snow peas? Any suggestions? Last year they have ruined our crop, so the kids haven;t got their favorite treat. Thanks!

Maybe to use a Holographic Scare Tape? Or mylar balloons with menacing faces on them? 🙂  Possible to use old CDs on string as well.

I had also read that you could sprinkle whole cloves throughout the garden and that critters don’t like the smell and will stay away. But I have never tried this method. I used a bird proof net over my blueberries and veggies but I really didn’t like to lift the net all the time to collect my veggies and berries. Also, the birds were trapped in the net that I had to remove them. I’ll try a Scare Tape as well. Seems like a good idea!
