Parsley, or Petroselinum crispum, is the most popular culinary herb in the world. It was originally cultivated in the Mediterranean region of Southern Europe. For over 2000 years now, this herb has been used for different medicinal purposes. Ancient Greeks even consider this biennial plant as sacred. They used parsley as ornament for winners of athletic events as well as decoration on the tombs of their deceased.
