Meanings of flowers in different cultures are different?

I’ve heard that in different cultures there are different traditions of giving flowers, as well as the meaning of each flower is different. Could you share what are those traditions from your country?
For example, in Ukraine and Russia you can give only odd number of flowers as a gift. To bring even number of flowers you can only for the funeral or to the cemetery.

What about colors of the flowers? What message is the color sending? Can you give yellow flowers or they symbolize separation?

I like yellow flowers. I know that in a lot of countries, for example as far as I know – in America, Latvia, yellow flowers symbolize friendship, joy, congratulations and get well wishes. They represent trust, compassion, cheer and respect.
