What is the name of this tree? Are the berries edible?

This tree grows in the street, just next to the kindergarden. Now it has many red berries, which look a bit like cherries. But I am not sure if they are edible or not, or maybe it is just an ornamental tree. There are many kids playing around, so I am a bit concerned about these berries. Actually I haven’t seen that anybody had been eaten these berries.

Please, help me to find the name of this tree in order to know if it is ok to eat its berries or not.

Thank you.

Could you get a photo of the berry inside?

Looks like a Crabapple. The berries are edible, but not very tasty. But they make a marvelous jelly.
