Which flower, herb and vegetable would you plant first when starting your garden?

When starting your garden from scratch, which flower, herb and vegetable would you plant first thing and why? 🙂

I would plant Marigold because they keep insects away fom other vegetalbles,  you can make a healing salve with it and they are edible. And lavender because you can make cream with it as well and a calming tea and it smells heavenly.
One of the vegetables would be spinach because it’s healthy,  potatoes as they get your soils ready for the next growing season. beet root cause it’s good for your blood, runner beans because they are so easy to grow but you need a lot of room for them.
As herbs I would have rosemary, sage and parsley because they are all good for cooking and healing.

Hi Christel! Your garden sounds awesome! 🙂 You mentioned “healing salve”. What is it good for and how do you make it from Marigold?
Thank you!

Ok, for the flower  it would be roses. For the herb – I think it would be dill , and the vegetable would be – tomatoes! 😀

    I would plant:
flower – tulips. They just make you feel spring!
herb – basil. I just love basil salt and basil pesto
vegetable –  eggplant, because I use it in a lot of meals and it tastes sometimes like meat (if you are a vegetarian) 🙂
