Is it possible to grow a Neem Tree in Europe?
I am just wondering if Neem would grow in a European climate, and if yes, then which country would be the best. I am thinking maybe Italy or Spain? Anybody tried? 🙂
Hello, Traveler! Neem tree is adapted to the poor soils, and it tolerates high temperature as well as a low pluviometry. As we know it can be found in dry and semi-dry areas of Tropical Asia but also in Africa and Australia. Today, the neem tree cultivated more and more in Central and South America (in Mexico), in the West Indies and even in Europe (The French Riviera) where it is appreciated as a charm tree. But wherever there below freezing temperatures, neem will not grow (unless grown in a greenhouse).
